The Red Deer Directory is locally owned and operated web
service that serves both the people of Red Deer and surrounding communities, as
well as the business owners of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.
In the early 1990’s, the Red Deer Business Directory was a
printed publication that was delivered to every home and business in Central
Alberta, for free. It was created as an alternative to the Telus Yellow Pages
and was focused on providing larger ad space for a much lower cost than what was
available through the traditional Yellow Pages phone book. (If you have been in
Central Alberta since the early 90’s, you may remember our publication with its
distinctive blue and white cover.)
After a few years, the cost of publishing and distribution
of that small directory became prohibitive. But as luck would have it, the
internet was new and we immediately saw the opportunity to shift gears and offer
the directory online to the world. By 1996, the directory was live on the
internet.
The directory today is not much different than it was back
in those days. It is still the only local-only business directory in Red Deer
that lists ALL business, for free!
The directory simply lists every known business in Red Deer
alphabetically and by
business category. Each business listing may have their business name,
address, telephone, website URL and email address. (We block the email addresses
behind a script so that spammers can’t “farm” the directory for email
addresses).
Advertising opportunities are available for those
businesses that wish to be listed under more than one single business category,
banner advertising at the top of whatever business category or categories your
business is placed, or you may offer coupons to visitors of the website. As
with the tradition of the directory, the advertising rates are very reasonable.

In 2008 the directory went through some changes. We
manually updated many of the Red Deer business listings and tried to ensure that
the information available in the directory was as current and accurate as
possible. However, we admit that there still may be some mistakes or omissions
to be found. We want to discover what errors exist, so that the directory is as
up to date and as useful as possible.
If you know of a business that is not in the directory, we
want you to tell us about it. Please fill out this simple
Add-A-Business Form. Also, if you know of a business listing that is
incorrect (no longer in business, missing or incorrect business name, address,
phone, website URL, or email address) please fill out this
Correct-A-Listing form. Try to provide us with as much information as
possible so we can quickly add or correct the listings.
We plan to introduce many new features that users of the
directory are sure to be love. Our goal is to make the directory a complete web
resource for all things Red Deer. Our goal is to provide links to websites of
interest for Red Deer and surrounding area.
